Nowadays, International Chinese Education commonly faced with the situation that students "study a lot, but learned a little", one of the reasons caused by such difficulties is the lack of large number of extensive reading.Unfortunately, the relevant theory and research is still very weak.We found out the exploration on extensive reading theory in the nineteenth century chinese teaching materials, Yu Yen Tzu Erh Chi’s Extensive Reading Part is one of the example.The author made the specific research process as follows:First of all, made an overall introduction on compiling process, version and style overview information of the extensive reading material.Then, create a comprehensive comparison between the extensive reading material and The Romance of West Chamber,find out the rules of recomposition.After that,using the quantitative research method to find out the difference between extensive reading material and the Hsu San Yu part from the first edition of Yu Yen Tzu Erh Chi.Then, investigate the emergence of the sentences from Hsu San Yu part in the extensive reading material, this part will be the focus of the article.At last, summarize the writing characteristics of the extensive reading materials, as well as extract its value to the composition of current extensive textbooks.
