The logical connectors exist in all languages. However, their applications differ from language to language. When the incorrespondence of connectors occurs, the word for word translation of connectors presents a big problem which might do harm to the quality of the target texts. So how do we solve this problem? In this report, by reviewing the previous studies of logical connectors, the translator summarized five influential factors, i.e. cohesion, coherence, intentionality, acceptability and information focus, that might help in decision of the correct translation method. By analyzing the problematic cases in the translation practice of the first four chapters of Free Will, the translator concluded four ways to translate the logical connectors, i.e. omission, transition, addition and paraphrasing. Finally, the conclusion is drawn that the translation of logical connectors is rather flexible. Besides word for word translation, there are four ways that can be resorted to in translation practices. As long as we stick to the textuality principles of cohesion, coherence, intentionality and acceptability as well as give full consideration to the communicative factor of the information focus, we can always find the correct translation accordingly.
