Analysis Of Treatment Of Logical Connectors In Japanese-chinese Simultaneous Interpretating

Cohesion is an important condition for the construction of coherence.Logical conjunctions are an important means of cohesion.The use of logical connectors is helpful to the realization of textual coherence and proper handling of logical connectors is helpful to improve the quality of interpretation.The research will take the simultaneous interpretation of KDDI investment simulation briefing'as an example to analyze the treatment of logical connectors in japanese-chinese simultaneous interpretating and put forward the improvement scheme.the author chose the theory of cohesion as defined in the Systemic Functional Crammar by Halliday and Hasan(1976)as the theoretical basis for investigating the task of simultaneous interprceting.Then,taking the Japanese telecom operator KDDI business summary and growth strategy investment description to simulate the simultaneous interpretation conference as an example,the processing methods of logical connectors in Japanese and Chinese simultaneous interpretation are classified,and the reasons for this treatment are analyzed with examples.In view of the easy problems in the treatment,this research puts forward the improvement scheme.There are four ways in the treatment of logical connectors : reservation,omission,addition and transformation.The reasons for adopting these treatment are different,many of which are determined by the characteristics of the source language(Japanese),such as ellipsis due to the different order of Japanese and Chinese,conversion due to the fuzziness of Japanese semantics,and so on.There are three kinds of problems in the processing of logical connectors: Japanese long sentences are forced to be omitted,misjudgment of the logical relationship between sentences,and the addition of mantra.According to these problems,the author puts forward some improvement schemes,such as reasonable allocation of energy,improving prediction ability,strengthening logic training and paying attention to self-monitoring.It is hoped that it can provide some reference for Japanese and Chinese interpreters and interpretation learners,help them deal with logical connectors flexibly and correctly,and realize the cohesion and coherence of the text.
