Adolescents’ Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(AERQ) was developed based on Gross emotion regulaton theory and the psychometric properties of AERQ as well as its correlation with trai meta-mood were studied in an adolescents general population sample at the age of 10~16. The results showed that the AERQ had good factorial validity and high reliabilities, with Cronbach’s αs ranging between.652 and.717. In addition, strong relationships were found among the attention deployment, cognitive reappraisal strategies and trait meta-mood, including all its factors which are emotion attention, clarity and repair The AERQ might therefore be considered a valuable and reliable tool in the study of adolescents’ emotion regulation strategies, while providing us with important targets for intervention. |
