In the present society, we live in an atmosphere of culture that beauty is exclusively emphasized. Mass media exercised important role indirectly in shaping up beauty ideals. Beauty is incorrectly treated as the determinate value of women. Women and young girls are willing to afford heavy expense besides time and energy and suffer physical pain. What impact does living in a culture that treat the body attractiveness as the most important trait? Some scholars proposed that the greater importance of women ’ s physical appearance to men can be explained by evolutionary theories of mate selection and associated with oppressive belief to women. The present study employed the most influential measurement instruments of beauty belief inventory, attitude toward women scale and the modified version of the Self-Objectification Scale to administer to 475 undergraduates in Guizhou Province. The psychometric properties of the instruments were examined under Classical Test Theory and Modern Test Theory(GGUM) and it was concluded that all of the three instruments of Chinese version have ideal reliability and construct validity after several items were deleted. Significant gender difference was discovered on the beauty ideals, attitude toward women and objectification to women, and significant prediction of oppressive belief to beauty ideals was also discovered, which supported the discovery of previous study in America. It was also found that some problems including low discrimination and exclusive choice category remains in several items in the three instruments employed in this study.
