Way of expressing love is relatively free and diverse in Dong People, such as love song duet or giving tokens of love to each other.But after this seemingly love freedom,the Dong have strict rules about marriage: cousin marriage or marriage of close relatives are forbidden and intermarriage circle intra-class endogamy is widely recognized.Therefore, when individual emotion conflicts with the traditional marriage rules, elopement marriage, as a special marriage custom, begins to emerge.Elopement marriage, different from the traditional marriage customs of Dong nationality, has its unique national cultural connotation. To know its specific cultural connotation, we must compare and analyze it through the overall traditional marriage form, connecting it with the love, the traditional marriage system and the marriage ceremony of the Dong People.This paper is divided into five parts:The introduction part mainly introduces the topic choosing reason, research methods, the related research review and the research significance.The first chapter is the field introduction, from the view of the village’s geographical environment, historical background, surname structure and time&space arrangement, introducing the Zhaitou Village’s communication scope between family and family,village and village.The second chapter, through the introduction of Dong traditional marriage form, analyzes the free development of emotion in Xing-Ge-Zuo-Yue. Some results in traditional marriage and some goes to elopement marriage.The third chapter discusses how traditional marriage use kinship terms to achieve the purpose of ideal marriage. Intermarriage circle controls resources circulation, sets up and maintains relationship between different marital groups by exchanging marriage ceremony gifts.The fourth chapter discuss the different between traditional ceremonies and the ceremony of Elopement Marriage,the gifts can use contact to different marriage groups. The fifth chapter mainly introduces the different causes of elopement marriage and shows the unique cultural value by the analysis of the “emotion” in it and the marriage rules damaged by it. The fifth chapter is the conclusion.
