The Study Of The Value Of William Leiss’s “Domination Of Nature”

Since the west industrial society appearing, the science and technology develop rapidly. At the same time, human’s confidence and ability of remaking nature has increased so much as to get rid of the nature and control it. With this idea, human has a very serious relationship with nature after they suffer the defiance. Then the west ecological Marxism has coming up, it provides solutions to ease the relationship. This paper mainly talks about the theory of domination of nature raised by William Leiss. This paper mainly shows his thoughts background and main points of domination of nature to analyze its enlightenment for our ecological civilization building in socialism with Chinese characteristics. To try our best to make the theory fit Chinese harmonious socialist society.There are five parts in this paper. The first part presents the research background and the origin of the theory of domination of nature. In the second part, this paper mainly talks about the content of Leiss’ s theory about domination of nature. It includes the ecological crisis revolution, the essence of control of natural conception and the way to solve the ecological crisis. In the following part, it analyze the theoretical contribution and insufficient of the thoughts of domination of nature. In the fourth part, this paper mainly discuss the revelation of our country’s construction of ecological civilization in the relationship of human and nature and the function of science and technology, and ecological moral consciousness of the public. The last part is the conclusion.
