Ignacio Cervantes Kawanagh(Havana, 31 July 1847 – Havana, 29 April 1905) was a Cuban pianist and composer. Because of the depression, he died in April 29, 1905.He was influential in the creolization of Cuban music.Becauses of the Cubas war,Ignacio Cervantes midway moved to Mexico and the United States.But his inner world think as a Cuban, he believe himself still flowing the blood of Cuba, then,"Cuban Dances" This work were complete in that situation.Cervantes was one of the first musicians in the Americas to consider nationalism to be a consequence of a people’s distinct character; he was thus a great forebear to later composers."This paper will combine the characteristics of Cuban music history. Analysis the music styles of the variety dance,which is about Ignacio Cervantes《Danzas Cubanas》.For example, Habanera dance, Sing dance, Polkas, Spain queue dance, Englandcountry Dance and so on. This paper will analysis all of them and the performance techniques.
