Both western landscape oil painting and Chinese landscape painting are inevitably subject to specific social relations and living environment among its creators, recipients and disseminators, as well as their own native ethnic, cultural, national sentiment.Chinese traditional culture has a long history for five thousand years and is the collection of the nation wisdom by all the people’s efforts and a symbol of oriental outstanding culture. Chinese culture is inclusive to exotic paintings and landscape oil painting is also popular with Chinese people. Everything that can keep charming and prolonged has common features: inclusiveness and flexibility. Either Chinese traditional culture or landscape oil painting may influence each other and enrich each other.During the process of “western painting into China”, Chinese Taoist philosophy and Zen Buddhism had a profound impact on aesthetic ideal and values, framing, the state of the art; Chinese traditional art such as Chinese painting, calligraphy, carving, paper cutting, pottery etc. may also bring a new atmosphere for its creative approach and make it more colorful.Under the background of diverse artistic languages, the localization of landscape oil painting in China should connect with Chinese traditional and modern culture, and pay attention to its inheritance and innovation, finally, can achieve its brilliant future with era characteristics and national spirit.
