1980s saw the emergence of the subject of pragmatics.With the development of pragmatics, many lexicographers are beginning to explore the relationship of dictionary compilation and related pragmatics principles. Addresses, being the first step of communication, contains rich pragmatic information and exerts a great significance on people’s social activities. From the view of pragmatics, The present paper takes “The commercial Press Learner’s Dictionary of contemporary Chinese "and " A Chinese dictionary for learners and teachers" as example, explores the differences of the pragmatic information presenting manners and the content of the information density between the two dictionaries, and discovers the strength and weakness of the content and manners of describing pragmatics information in learners’ dictionaries. And finally, some advice is given on how to present the pragmatic information in Chinese learners’ dictionary effectively, and brings some enlightenment for the future codification, even to improve the pragmatic information in the Chinese learner’s dictionaries.
