Xuzhou Dialect Research Under The Perspective Of Geography Linguistics

Xuzhou belongs to Central Plains Mandarin(CPM), north of Xuzhou connects with Shandong, southeast of Xuzhou connects with Lianyungang、Donghai which are belong to Lower Yangtze Mandarin(LYM). Special location makes Xuzhou dialect present both Central Plains Mandarin(CPM) language features, another Northern Mandarin(NM) and Lower Yangtze Mandarin(LYM) features, showing a transition.This paper use a method of linguistic geography, surveied 25 counties(cities) of 114 townships, study covers the characteristics of voice, vocabulary, grammar, folk, etc, were set up 257 survey points, to a certain extent show the language on the face of the Xuzhou area. Material from the survey were selected entry with the characteristics of language, drawn map fifty-five.This paper combed Xuzhou internal language phenomenon, trying to explain the causes of various linguistic phenomena. The course of the analysis Combined with geopolitical landscape, administrative divisions, media education, political and economic factors non-linguistic. According to linguistic phenomena reflecting in the different geographical, internal of Xuzhou was divided, the result is both northwest and southeast portions. However, the specific location presentation two results: the first is Fengxian and Peixian belong to northwest tablets, Tongshan、Jiawang、Pizhou、Suining、Xinyi belong to southeast tablets(Partition one). The second is Fengxian、Peixian、Tongshan、Jiawang belong to northwest tablets, Pizhou、Suining、Xinyi belong to southeast tablets(Partition two).The research found, Xuzhou internal language from the northwest to the southeast was the transition trend. Northwest film retains Central Plains Mandarin(CPM) language phenomena characteristic, in the southeast part of the language film was consistent with Lower Yangtze Mandarin(LYM). Partition one match with "Shangsixian(Feng Pei Xiao Dang) " and "Xiasixian( Tong Pi Sui Su) " in the history of Xuzhou. Partition two has some relationship with geopolitical landscapes of Xuzhou. However, Xuzhou language also shows imbalance, some linguistic phenomena showing the distribution pattern of the north and south or living in a corner.
