| It has been a history of almost a century for the development of Chinese national opera art. Having made outstanding contributions to the emergence and development of Chinese national opera, “the Shandong provincial theater” is also the first provincial opera education and performance organization established with the support of Chinese government. In the first half part of the 20 th century, it became the pioneer of practice in the reform of Chinese modern opera and the exploration of new opera. Based on the specific national conditions at that time, it not only inherited the traditional opera cultural characteristics but also integrated the advantages of Western opera. Therefore, in its short-term existential process, it has not only injected fresh blood for the Chinese opera reform,national music education, exploration of new opera and opera performance activities and broken the artistic pattern with the history of several hundred years, but also cultivated a batch of new professional artistic talents and set a positive example for the Chinese opera reform and artistic innovation at that time. In general, “the Shandong provincial theater”has accumulated precious experience for China to explore new artistic form and teaching mode, and thus it is a valuable cultural treasure for Shandong province and even for the whole country.With theoretical innovation and artistic practice of “the Shandong provincial theater” in the opera reform and new opera exploration as the clues, this dissertation combines the creative thoughts of elderly artists like Zhao Taimou, Wang Bosheng and Chen Tianhe as well as the artistic activities of “the Shandong provincial theater”. Moreover, it implements systematic investigating, combing and studying on the contributions of“the Shandong provincial theater” to the development of national opera,and further fully confirms the positive significance of “the Shandong provincial theater” in the opera reform and new opera exploration. |
