| Amy Tan and Chi Li are the representative figures of Chinese-American woman and new-realism writer. They have a lot in common in their novel creation. However, due to the different living environment and culture, two writers perform great differences in conflict between mother and daughter. This thesis based on two writers’ representative work The Joy Club and Suo Yi,and analyze the same and difference between these two works about conflict between mother and daughter.The thesis is divided into four parts: The first part introduce Amy Tan and Chi Li’s writing background and main works, and makes a summary of the domestic researches on Amy Tan and Chi Li. The second part bases on the change of mother prototype, then explain mother’s imagine in Amy Tan and Chi Li’s novels. The third part from feminism view, research the relationship between mother and daughter, weakened father’s image, narrative perspective and text structure. The last part combined with Amy Tan and Chi Li’s other novels, discuss memory in childhood and social change can influence write’s creation. |
