Studies On Sculpture Art Creation In Digital Technology Application

The traditional process of sculpture art creation is: First, create the original mud model of the sculpture, then through some reproducing process. Finally, we get the artwork of the sculpture which made by the material that the designer required. But when the size of sculpture polarizes, there will have some trouble on make the original mud model. If the sculpture is very little, it’s hard to sculpt the detail on the sculpture; if the sculpture is very huge, as the public sculpture, there will have a lot of non creative work in the process and it will have some negative effect on the efficiency and the cost of the creation.In the research on sculpture art creation in digital technology before, people are only focus on the cooperation of 3D scan and 3D print or on the cooperation of digital sculpture and 3D print. They never focus on the cooperation of the three kinds of digital technologies, so we need to find a way to solve the problem on data conversion between the technology of 3D scan an digital sculpture.In this research, the author plans to create a little sculpture from the public sculpture Lao-tzu with the help of digital technologies, attempt to solve the problem in little size sculpture creative. And take a outlook about improve the process of big size sculpture creation.Also,the author plans to use the projection function to transform the 3D model of Lao-tzu sculpture fit for the needs of digital sculpture software, attempt to solve the problem of the cooperation of the three kinds of digital technologies.Conclusion: It’s effective to transform the 3D model of Lao-tzu sculpture fit for the needs of digital sculpture software by use the projection function, and it lead a way to the the cooperation of the three kinds of digital technologies. In the experiment, wemade some different size of Lao-tzu sculptures, they prove the flexibility and the accuracy of sculpture art creation in digital technology, and solve the problems on little size sculpture creation. And confirm the possibility of the process of big size sculpture creation with digital technology.
