Study On The Relationship Among Freshmen’s University Adaptation,Personalitytypes And Perception Of Campusenvironment

University is an important period in the personal psychological development process. Facing lots of changes in environment, lifestyle and learning-methods aspects, freshmen will more or less meet some adaptation problems and their adaptation situation has a great influence on their whole university life. In that case,how to effectively help freshmen to quickly adjust themselves to college life and improve their adaptation abilities and mental health levelshas been an important issue which owns attentions of mental health education workers and researchers to study on. Having studied on related documents and papers, this thesis is aim to discuss the relationships among freshmen ’s MBTI psychological types, perception to environment and their adaptation situations and to advise on improving mental health qualities in colleges and universities.Taking the method of doing questionnaires, having 476 freshmen in 4 colleges in Wuhan and Changsha as subjects, using Adaptability Questionnaire of Freshmen(SACQ), Chinese short form of MBTI(MBTI-CS), Students in the School Environment Questionnaire as the tool, the papers analyses the relationships among freshmen’s school adaptation abilities, psychological types and their perceptions to environment.The results show that:Firstly,freshmen’s adaptability generally were in the middle and upper levels.And there were no significant differences in among the aspects of sex,only one child or not, profession categories and origins of students. However their adaptation situation in different dimension have distinct difference among these 4 aspects.Secondly, ESFP,ESTJ,ESTP,ISFJ,ISTJ are the most common psychological types. ESFJ,ESFP,ESTJ belongs to those whose have stronger adaptation abilities while INFJ,INTP,ISFP belongs to the opposite. MBTI personal types are different in the above 4 demographic variable aspects in dimension. And freshmen’s perception to environment is also in the middle and upper levels and there were no significant differences in only one child or not aspect instead of other three aspects.Thirdly,adaptation situation is significantily related with their perception to environment. Freshmen’s adaptation situation and perception of environment is significantily related with E-I,S-N,J-P.Fourthly,The Personal types can directly affect Freshmen’s adaptation,and can also indirectly influenced by Perception of environment.That to say, Perception of environment has an intermediary role in the process of Personal types affecting Freshmen’s adaptation.
