Liu Dehai New Pipa "Disarmouring" Research

Liu Dehai’s music creation arises in the modern national composers in its special creation concept and performance style. His works use the new music materials combining the innovative performance techniques and forms on the basis of our predecessors, which show his strong outlook on life and values. He argues an idea that “Music should express the life directly”. It not only is innovative but also inherits the tradition to combine the traditional music and modern aesthetic opinion. His works also provide the new creation idea for other composers of the national music. He also thinks that traditional music culture should follow the flavor of the times, and constantly improve with the development of the times, so he advocates "archaic music should use the new playing ways" and explores new creation thoughts and new playing techniques to further depict the connotation and the vigorous spirit of the time conveyed by the works. “Bury Me High” for Pipa Music has unique characteristics and have many versions. The paper carries on the analysis and the research on the structure, the special techniques of expression and creating style in “Bury Me High” newly organized by Liu Dehai. And it also introduces that this music compares with the unique music style between the modern lute military melody and the different genres including Pudong School and Wang School. The text is divided into four chapters, its musical compositions cover a wide range of contents, and the main body of the paper roughly describes the four parts. The first part expounds to the purpose, significance, research contents and methods, and present situation at home and abroad of the works one by one. The second part is that taking the author’s life, the historical times of works and the Chinese traditional lute music as the foundation, analyzing “Bury Me High” newly organized by Liu Dehai from the melody, rhythm, playing techniques and other perspectives. And it deeply analyzes from several perspectives, such as the entry points taken as the aesthetic ideology newly organized by the music of Liu Dehua and how it is embedded in works. The third part mainly discusses the similarities and differences between the newly organized "Bury Me High" and modern lute military melody from the music structure, technical innovation and other aspects and studies with several main schools. In the last part, the author takes the tragic and historical significance as the research object. In order to show the rich content of music and creative ideas, Liu Dehai conducts the research and creation with the tragic beauty inherited by his works. This paper will analyze and explain from the reasons for the selection, the creation characteristics, the music contents, the comparative analysis among the versions, and the inheritance of the tragedy mood of the structural genres.
