Yihuang Drama Research

Yihuang Opera not only features an irreplaceable value in the history of Chinese opera, it also provides an important reference for the inheritance and development of other local operas in current stage. This paper starts from the view of Art Theory, adopting Sociology of Art, Art Aesthetics, Performance Studies, Cultural Studies and other discipline methods, mainly involved four primary parts: First, the formation and value of Yihuang Opera with emphasis on analyzing the background and development process of its formation from social, historical and cultural aspects;Second, through the case studies of the Yihuang Opera, discussing about its characteristics and elaborating its special artistic value. The type and theme of Yihuang Opera will be focused on in this part; Third, viewing from Performance Studies,analyzing the performance characteristics of Yihuang Opera with the famous operas;Fourth, the analysis of the direction of reform and development of traditional Chinese opera, inheritance and protection measures from the perspective of cultural heritage,etc. The primary value of the article is to show the value of the relevant protections of the local operas similar to Yihuang Opera through the discussions of the specific historical development, types, themes, performance value of Yihuang Opera, and therefore give recommendations for the heritage and development of non-material culture. The innovative point is to use research methods of art theory to discuss about and do research of Yihuang Opera from the aspects of Sociology of Art, Art Theory,Aesthetics, etc.
