Inheritance And Innovation In The Practice Of Watercolor Landscape Painting

Scenery as the theme in watercolor landscape painting,ainly describing the natural scenery, with unique artistic language of watercolor to show the beauty of nature. In the process of watercolor landscape painting’s emergence and development, all previous dynasties watercolor painters keeps continuous innovation on the basis of inheriting traditional,who pushed the watercolor landscape painting art to a higher stage. In the process of the inheritance and innovation,”teaching”as the effective way,plays a crucial role in the development of watercolor landscape painting.In this paper, the study of inheritance and innovation in watercolor landscape painting practice can divided into these four parts. The first part is a summary of watercolor landscape painting and watercolor landscape painting teaching.The second part is a introduction of "landscape" theme in the development history of watercolor painting. The third part is a introduction of the teaching of watercolor painting and its innovation in the early stage,including a brief analysis of Alexander Konis’ s watercolor landscape painting and teachingwho is a typical representative in that period.The final part is a combing of the inheritance and innovation in watercolor landscape painting teaching, was reviewed by Professor Li Shuicheng’s teaching as an example to view and understanding of watercolor landscape painting in the development of the inheritance and innovation in the process of practice. While it must be traced back to the history of the Hunan Normal University fine arts professional watercolor landscape painting and teaching, and then on the basis of the analysis summarized professor Li Shuicheng watercolor landscape painting and the contribution of the teaching and its historical position. In this paper, the second chapter to the fifth chapter is about the four aspects of watercolor landscape painting teaching combing.Firstly, emphasizing on the sketch from nature,including the nature of literary sketch, small format and large format sketch.Secondly, the reference and integration of Chinese traditional culture, including Chinese traditional cultural spirit and theory, pen,color.Thirdly, exploring expression ways.It is mainly including series of paintings’ form,such as the rape flower series, light series, cardboard series, painting techniques in dry and wet expand,and the application and attention of point,line and plane constitute forms. Fourthly, studying of the "beauty". professor Li pursuits the diversity of beauty,exploring the relationship of natural beauty and artistic beauty,and applying it into his teaching. On the base of these four aspects,there is a analysis about the relationship between inheritance and innovation in the practice of watercolor landscape painting and its value and significance.
