| Lisu people is a branch of Di Qiang who originally lived in Yalong river basin, west Sichuan. During the Ming and Qing dynasty, under the pressure of war between the state and local bandit, the Lisu started a long process of migration. Most of them moved to the west and south-west frontier of China, stayed in the Nujiang river( the Salween) basin, others moved to the north, arrived at Dechang, Yanbian, Miyi,Huidong area of Sichuan. Few hundred years passed, today Lisu people who live at Dechang area have been isolated from their main group by the severe geographic condition. Most research focus on Lisu people in Yunnan province and less on Sichuan province.In this article my research mainly focus on the Fireweed weaving technique of Lisu people in Dechang area. My research contain both diachronic and synchronic prospective, including the cultural functions of Fireweed weaving technique and their changing in history. Also I will make a comparison between Lisu people in Dechang area and other area.There are 5 chapters in the thesis. The first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter is about oral history of their migration. The third chapter is focus on the technique of Fireweed weaving. The forth is focus on oral legend related of Fireweed weaving. The sixth chapter is about the reproduction and cultural identity of Fireweed weaving in the contemporary, especially concerning about how does the cultural revitalization of Fireweed weaving works accompanying with the folk literature, intangible heritage discourse, agriculture economy policy. |
