| Oil painting teaching and practice in our country, the type of representational realism still dominate, number of realistic oil painters of China lead the world. Lucian Freud is an excellent representative of international recognition in the field. Based on Freud as a case, this paper from one of the basic language elements of realism oil painting- brushwork texture, this paper analysis Freund’s did to its research and achievements of the enlightenment in order to get the oil painting creation.The first chapter reviews the development course of interpretation and texture of the brush strokes, strokes and texture of the reproduction function and an important role in the expression of emotion.The second chapter analyzes the painter Freud and coherent long solo career life of each period in the paintings, combined with the painter’s life is affected by the source and a solo career, from sociology, psychology, image analysis and comprehensive point of view, to explore the cause of the landscape painting and brushwork texture’s role in it.
