Discussion On The Supporting Symbolic Significance Of Dance Props In The Dance Creation

Since the rising of art symbol aesthetics from 20 th century, people start to introduce semiotics theory to the area of dance creation and research. Dance is a symbol presentation of human’s emotion. Body gestures are taken as the main language of “presentation”. When main language cannot express emotions accurately or completely, tools which have a close relationship to main language will be used as assistant language to express emotions. From the aspect of semiotics, the assistant symbol meanings of tolls have three expression aspects respectively are symbols representing pictograms, symbols representing emotions and symbols representing artistic conceptions, which shows a crow‐down progress. As a signifier, pictogram is the basis of emotion and artistic conception. Besides, as signified, emotion and artistic conception also takes a reaction on pictogram. With a symbol meaning research on tools, basic theory of tools applied in dance creation can be riched. At the same time, rational thinking is provided by art symbol aesthetics to practical dance creation.
