According to history records, Dao Ju(means props) evolved into various kinds of performing props which had its origin in Xia Dynasty, Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty. Nowadays, as time changes, props appear in different kinds of performing presentation, especially in choreography. If human body can express limitless pleasure, anger, sorrow and happiness as well as parting and reunions, then props are more like an silent actor accompanies the body to communicate with the audience consistently and to a great extent, endow the life to performance presented by the dancer. In folk choreography, due to six features of appreciation, the application of props makes the expression of performance more precise and clear, which emphasizes the identity of the dancer, renders story backgrounds and demonstrates the essence of folk dancing in emotional dimension, furthermore, enforces the unique feature of folk dancing arts.My kite, my kid, is a work I produced and performed during graduating study. This work features flower-drum in Anhui Province to build characters through actions and props in flower-drum playing. The props are applied all the time during the dancing and fused together with characters' building and passionate expression. This paper begins the discussion from the application of props and has three chapters. In the first chapter, analysis of the works' structure and performing features are examined. In the second chapter, creative application and generalization of props are discussed. In the last chapter, importance and significance of props in dance-performing are mainly focused.
