Since Renaissance, Modern European Philosophy swept away feudal medieval scholasticism and detention, freedom has become the theme of the times, and been deep studied and discussed by many philosophers and thinkers. "Pursuit of Human Emancipation" of Marx and "Love the World" of Hannah Arendt, both of them started their work from thinking the reality of the plight survival of the individual, and on profound critique of capitalist society, simultaneously, they researched the problem of human freedom and its realization from two perspectives, and formed their unique concept of freedom.Marx advocated get rid of the shackles of external constraints and the relations of production change by people in critical and creative practice gradually, so that the human society is gradually leading to the new ideal form of society, to achieve free and full development. Arendt always talk about freedom in the field of politics, and on a par with the freedom of action, and believed that only the citizens actively participate in political life, and the State and Society II also provide the people a sufficient public areas and free space, to express their ideas freely, so that people participate in the management of public affairs actively, a person’s freedom can be truly realized. It can be said, for the analysis and research freedom, to some extent constitute the political philosophy of Marx and Arendt in a big ideological differences. Therefore, on the basis of common understanding to further explore the concept of freedom of Marx and Arendt’s concept of freedom between the upper and analysis of both the concept of freedom of the differences, try to understand and examine Marx’s concept of freedom, at the same time, lead to the modern society attention and actively explore specific issues of freedom.
