Abstract/Summary:
The Northern Wei is a feudal dynasty that established by TuoBa XianBei, also is a unified minority regimes in Northern China and ruled central plains firstly. Tuoba XianBei belongs to the part of XianBei that origin from the Greater Hinggan. With the development of tribe, TuoBa XianBei from forest grew to grassland gradually and expanded to central plains finally. It established Northern Wei regime, unified Northern China and existed with Southern China regime side by side, forming a confrontational pattern of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. As a carrier of reflecting social life at that time, tomb is one of the important parts of social history in Northern Wei and archeology research.Connected with predecessor’s research results and based on systemic examination of tombs discovery of the Northern Wei in Central Inner Mongolia, I analyze the typology of forms and system of tomb and main burial objects, and then divided these tombs into four different periods. Meanwhile, comparing the central Inner Mongolia with the Datong tombs of Northern Wei which from forms and system of tombs, burial objects, and grave images etc, I mainly analyze mortuary customs difference from two districts and simply discussed why caused it.
