Yang Shie is a poet in the mid-Tang Dynasty. However, ancient literature about Yang Shie’s life is not rich. All of the data about him was scattered in catalogue of books, poets’biography, poetry anthology or poetry reviews, which, to some extent, has influenced the spread of Yang’s poems. His poems are 101 pieces.With varieties of formats, rich content, Implicit emotional expression and vigorous characters, many of his poems are highly acclaimed and show highly artistic value.This paper discusses the Yang Shie’s life and works by five chapters. In the first chapter of the paper the author mainly conducts a further study on three points including his origin, his birth, death time and his social life. The second chapter makes complementary research on circulation situation of his works, also collects and sorts out the Yang Shie’s peoms in order to see the spreading and evaluation, the chapter also investigates and identificates his six controversial peoms.The third chapter focuses on the study of Yang Shie poems’content. There are many different types of themes used in Shie’s poems such as express feelings poem, farewell poem, object-chanting poems and so on. However, his specific content of poems shows multiple emotions such as the pursuit of fame and wealth; feelings of missing his family members in his homeland; love for the natural scenery; feelings about short time; admiration of solitude and so on. Yang Shie’s poems are rich in content, sincere feelings instead of being artificial and extreme. The fourth chapter discuss the characteristics of the Yang Shie’s poems. the was good at using different styles especially in Lvshi with Five Words and his poems are clear, sentimental, allusive, positive. Meanwhile the chapter investigates the relationship between his poem style and the poets in Dali. The fifth chapter will transversely studys Yang Shie in history of the Tang Dynasty, also investigates the relationship with Bai Juyi and the Category of Poet’s Host and Guest. By focusing on the study and analysis of the plant in the poetry and the poetry of the county, To explore the realism and reserved emotion in his poetry and the cause of formation. At last the chapter also investigates the transition of literary From the focus on the outside world to pay attention to the inner world and the transition of literary emotion from outside to inside on the basis of the general characteristics of Yang Shie.
