Solo and chorus in the vocal music art are the most common and most important of the two kinds of art forms, have been with their unique artistic charm were deeply loved by people. Solo art is the pursuit of individuality, for the center with the singer on the stage. It pays attention to the emotional expression of the individual in the works. It is one of the most direct way and characteristics of the more brilliant performance. Chorus art pays attention to integrity. It can be regarded as a multiple solo individual set of combinations. Chorus for art has its unique aesthetic presentation. For specific performance: vocal states or stage performances are focused on unity and concord. For vocal music learners, how to show a personal singing style better in solo and how to put your own voice into the chorus, needs us to compare the differences and similarities between solo and chorus. Than, to practice. In the vocal music teaching, take the vocal training methods of solo to guide the chorus, in turn, take the concept of voice of chorus to guide solo. It will broaden our vocal music study road. That helps us a lot. Purpose of this paper is to make the vocal music learners can not only grasp the solo pronunciation skills and stage performance, also can adapt to the basic literacy as singers possessed. This paper will be divided into three chapters. The first chapter: European vocal music development as the main line, the narrative of solo and chorus in different historical period under the present condition and development situation. The second chapter : comparison of solo and chorus in breath, sound and resonance of differences and similarities, discuss its application in vocal music teaching. The third chapter: the problems and interaction with solo and chorus in the concrete practice, which mainly discusses the beneficial effects of the chorus for solo.
