In the 19 th century, western colonialism rapid expansion to the global,China was also involved in the colonial system in after the Opium War in 1840.At the same time,Western archaeology has grew into maturity and at the end of the 19 th century and the early 20 th century was introduced into China.Academic circles in Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China on the occasion of this numerous react after complex brewing, until 1928 s, the Nanjing National Government founded the Chinese scientific archaeology of the Institule of History and Philology of Academia Siniea(the IHP), and in the same year the IHP excavations Yinxu which marks the formal establishment of scientific archaeology in China. The paper discusses the history of the establishment of scientific archaeology in China.The birth of scientific archaeology in China is not an isolated incident.Since the late Qing Dynasty under the academic background of the social and historical background of the. Closely related it is the historical background which ‘Western learning spreads to the East’ at the end of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century and unrest in the late Qing Dynasty.the western "archaeologists" in China did a series of archaeological survey activities.The excavation and research results of them, not only shocked the academic world, but also contributed to the native scholars turn focus of attention from epigraphy of new development-- Oracle bones to the underground information.but none of them actually involved in to archaeological excavation which samzed the symbol of modern archaeology.Since Western geological and archaeological knowledge was introuded in China. The geological survey was founded in the early Republic of China,which carried out the earliest field investigation, such as some archaeological investigation and archaeological discoveries.Especially Antwerp’s archaeological found great influence.The new historical think the underground information and documentation be applied together.With the establishment of the Republic of China, western style education and the reform of colleges and universities developed, overseas studentbe gradually came the leader of the new culture and other social movement.They introduce Western science and respected which criticized the traditional historiography.Especially after the May 4th Movement,Suspected ancient ideological trend Reach the summit.With the gradual rise of local archaeological institutions, the archaeological study of foreign students in China to carry out the earliest archaeological excavations. After the victory of Northern Expedition war, Nanjing national government was founded in 1928, the IHP established. Since then, the scientific and archaeological work formally launched in China.The paper is divided into seven chapters, the questions above were explained and discussed. The first chapter is the introduction part, the second chapter i discussed the theme of "scientific archaeology" of "the concept of archaeology" problems, including my attitude and some different views of IHP. The third chapter is carries on the elaboration to the two basic problems of scientific archaeology:its local academic origin and the influence early of foreign scholars archaeological’s archaeological activity in China. From the beginning of the fourth chapter, formal discussion and scientific archaeology in the rise of the various key factors. The first is geology and geological survey.The fifth chapter is the important academic reasons of the scientific archaeology:The revolution of historical world and social movement.The six chapter analysis the key figures and institutions in the science of archaeology in China to be established. The seventh chapter is a summary of the establishion of the IHP and its work duing the Republic of China.
