Research On The Anecdote Novels Of Shunzhi And Kangxi Period

Anecdote novel is also called Zhi Ren novel, which contains the main contents of human behaviors and trivial anecdotes. In a long period, research field of Qing dynasty novel takes an emphasis on vernacular novels and mystery novels while despises classical Chinese novels and anecdotes, which puts the Anecdote novel on an edge of the Qing dynasty fiction and ignores its unique values.During the early period of Qing dynasty, some of the adherents of the Ming dynasty take the motivation of recording and warning to miss the ancestors of Ming dynasty and record the social status. While some of other writers are afraid of the grim culture and policy of authority, so the works have the tendency of entertainment, folk characteristics and modernity. In the early period of Qing dynasty, the content and style of the Anecdote novel not only come down in one continuous line with the last dynasty, but also show itself characteristics, which has an important reference value of recognizing the social and historical feature and scholar ideology. In this paper,46 different kinds of Anecdote novels (during the Sunzhi and Kangxi period) are taken as the research subject. Characteristics and values of the Anecdote novel in early Qing dynasty are explored through analyzing its styles and themes.There are six parts in this paper. In the introduction part, the research status, research value and thinking of the Anecdote novel of Qing dynasty was combed. In chapter one, the research subjects were summarized. Three perspectives of the concept, time range and classification of the Anecdote novel were classified. In chapter two, the writer groups and compilation motivations of Anecdote novel of early Qing dynasty were taken as the research object. The relationship between the experience of the writers, the compilation motivations and ideological content were sought. In chapter three, the writing style of the Anecdote novel of early Qing dynasty was combed. The art accomplishment and shortage of the Anecdote novel were analyzed from three view angles, such as specimen choosing, style form and narratiove way. In chapter four, characteristics of subject orientation of the Anecdote novel were researched. Ideological content and characteristics of the times were analyzed from the though of the survivors and the idle essay of expressing emotion. The conclusion summarized the core ideas and deficiencies of this paper.
