The research object of this paper is "anecdote novel"(轶事小说),is also known by "Zhi Ren novel"(志人小说)Anecdote novels refers to the story do not records in the history books written in biographical style. The story is based on the rumor or hearsay or records of material. The different between anecdote novel and mystery is, anecdote novel write something about human. The story is about human thoughts and actions. The relationship between the novel and the "thing" reflects the "people" and "things", that’s how the people grasp the knowledge, the ability of memory,performance,the development about the’things’in the life. What are the characteristics of the anecdote novels?In content, is mainly to discuss the "people", tell the story about the Song. The first chapter mainly discusses the overall situation anecdote novels of Song Dynasty. Try to sort out the thoughts about the formation and evolution of the trajectory of the literary style idea, the essential characteristics of Chinese Ancient Novels. It is the first step to explore the anecdote novels. To make a definition and classification of the anecdote novels based on the analysis of ancient traditional novel concept and summary of ancient and modern scholars on the research results. The third section discusses the theoretical and practical problems of Anecdote Fiction. Despite the impression about the "fictitious" and "documentary", focus on the aesthetic significance and literary value.Then the second chapter analyzes the background of the anecdote novels of song dynasty. The number of the notes of Song Dynasty have in abundance, and more than in any previous dynasties. Anecdote novels has very big development. The first section presents five reasons,based on the development of politics, society, literature and culture unifies the discussion, summed up the reasons for the anecdote novels of prosperity.
