Contemporary Wood Form Language Analyze

Wood is one of the expressive materials for sculpture, which has a very long history,during form changing and renewal, contemporary wood sculpture still keep its own noble c haracter and elegant expression form, in the sculpture emotion expression, it highlights phy sical essences and process method of trails and veins.The main research direction of this article is pointed to the comprehensive usage of w ood material in contemporary sculpture and expression method for ideas. Express from the uniqueness and specificity of the material, combine grand, elegant physical characteristic o f wood material and prominent expression of decorated language of wooden texture, wood sculpture reveals very high artistic achievement and research value. Through discussion an d comparison between different expression methods and prominent characteristics of proce ss, we understand more expressive ideas of wood sculpture.The core body of this article uses two chapters to introduce the comprehensive usage of wood material in contemporary sculpture, concretely analysis expressive ideas of wood material. In the first chapter, we set out direction to mainstream-thinking sculpture and art sculpture, search generality and specificity of different expression method. We separately i ntroduce artistry and common artistry of devices in the outdoor environment area, from ph ysical characteristics of material, it can combine with different materials in widely usage, t hrough different arrangement and combination to enrich vision effect in level overlying; W e deeply researched on style expression method, from romantic emotion colour, realistic te chnique expression, expressive style’s emotion language and grand intention expression, hi ghlight texture effect of surface of sculpture, use wood material to express idea of sculptur e and different styles of wood process skills; Then through different area cultures,we resear ch on language expression and area process characteristic of African sculpture; Last but no t least, we introduce and analysis effect and modernization idea of Chinese traditional folk wood sculpture to contemporary wood sculpture. In the second chapter, we put our sight in to daily life, analysis emotion expression of wood material’s life embodiments in three dire ctions: effect of artwork movement to contemporary wood furniture, language embodiment of Chinese wood furniture and language expression of foreign wood furniture in decorating and practicality.At last, this article summarizes wood material’s innovation and developing of its vari ant forms and its spiritual value and social duty.
