Trigoletto is the one of the most famous masterpieces of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera compositions. Rigoletto was created as a three-act opera based on the burlesque, "king for pleasure", of Victor Hugo. As the heroine of this opera, Gilda is molded as perfect as a gorgeous, innocence, virtuous and brave character. Yet, the fate of Gilda is rough and tragic. According to the dramatic conflict caused by the faultless image and miserable experiences of Gilda, the resonance is directly and rapidly induced. Therefore, the aria of Gilda, " friendly name " and "during that holiday coming ", are popular and renowned.The dissertation is divided into five parts. The first chapter briefly introduces the background and the main story of Rigoletto. The second chapter expounds the dramatic image and musical image of Gilda. In the meanwhile, the author analyses how the personalities of Gilda is built and portrayed by the composer through the transformation of musical materials. The third chapter elaborates the specific musical analysis of " during that holiday coming ",which include the analysis of musical and accompaniment, etc. Next part demonstrates the analysis of singing. In the chapter, the author tries to analysis the performance by combining the personal learning and understanding of the singing skills. The fifth chapter as the final chapter presents the analysis and appreciation by comparing two different editions offered by two different singers. The author explores and analyses the aria, " during that holiday coming ", through several aspects as mentioned as above. The goals of expanding the vocal music learning, singing and teaching are expected to be achieved by the sufficient understandings provided by the author.
