In the twelfth century in Western Europe once a major agricultural reclamation movement occurred, the land had been set up a number of new village in Western Europe, especially in France, the new era had many village features of new period, higher degrees of freedom, many places had the Freedom Rights Charter, the village collective farming habits determined the shared cultural tradition of the village direct democracy and so on. Since modern times, with the development of the village handicraft industry, the strengthening of royal power and the loss of public resources, the organization of village community had been disintegrated, the open field system disappeared completely gradually.The first part is an introduction, mainly introduces the significance of the topic and the research status of domestic and foreign scholars in this paper. The second part discusses the origin of the village community, the lord church and citizen class promoted the establishment of village community. The third part mainly introduces the daily management of village community and customary law. The fourth part easily introduces the peasant’s land tenure and burden of medieval French peasant. The fifth part describes the growth economy in medieval French countryside and the modern transformation of countryside.
