Yang Qin Graduate Student Graduation Recital Design

This paper is an analysis of the repertoire of the YangQin Master’s recital focusing on the music style and background of the music works as well as performance techniques in hopes to achieve a clearer and better understanding of the compositions of this concert. The paper will be divided to five chapters, namely chapter one: self-introduction; chapter two: recital program, structure and frame of recital; chapter three: understanding and presenting of repertoire; chapter four: focal point and thoughts of performance; chapter five: personal experiences of the recital. The main focus of chapter four will be on the importance of basic techniques in the performance of Yangqin. This paper is a conclusion on the writer’s learning progress and it is hoped that more Yangqin learners will be inspired and benefited by the analysis and exploration of the importance of basic techniques in Yangqin performance.
