The movie "A Beautiful Separation" is adapted from fiction Lu Yanshi,the Convict written by famous female writer Yan Geling. The novel mainly tells the life time story of intellectual Lu Yanshi who has been exiled to desolate western China for more than twenty years for some political reasons.
