The Artistic Features Of Tibetan Jewelry And Its Influence On Modern Jewelry Design

As the living standards of people improved gradually, the understanding and demand for beautiful things are also becoming higher. Therefore, the design of jewelry is also a major concern. Now people don’t just consider the value of jewelry, but also the increasing demand for jewelry design. What we can see in the market of jewelry design looks like the same style, no characteristics, less creative, blindly changed model, and design thinking is relatively narrow. Innovation is crucial for design field,and is also the basic element for both progress and development. Compared with the international jewelry design, the jewelry design in China is far behind. Modern jewelry design pays more attention to the form, but lack of the certain spiritual connotation. An excellent work must have the spirit of rich connotation and national characteristics,because “Nation is the world”. Therefore, only such kind of design is the design of the soul. Through the study of cultural history and artistic features of Tibetan jewelry,people can find new lessons, new useful elements, new rising space and put the good design elements into modern jewelry design and give them a new life, make the Chinese jewelry industry change, and bring certain inspiration to help jewelry designers. At the same time, it also can effectively protect the Tibetan traditional culture. The most important thing is to find a suitable way for our country’s jewelry industry development in the process of research, which is to connect the design of jewelry style and material innovation, and to connect the national characteristics and modern design methods, and to connect nationalization with traditional characteristics of Chinese jewelry design. Only in this way, it will make our design to win a place in the world stage. Through reading a lot of papers, books, journals and other materials of experts and scholars in the related field, the author gets writing inspiration and thought;and collects writing material and pictures using from the network platform, and takes the collected materials in previous period for proofreading; a light spot of this article is to use such kind of research method that compares and analyzes the Tibetan jewelryand modern jewelry. The integration analysis has formed this thesis. The overall framework of this thesis is as follows: The first chapter is introduction. The second chapter is according to development situation of jewelry design and design characteristic both in domestic and oversea. The paper also has a detailed analysis and then analyzes the current situation of the development of Tibetan jewelry design. The third chapter is the key part of the thesis, mainly from three aspects to elaborate the artistic features of Tibetan jewelry, the heritage and the importance of protecting our Tibetan jewelry culture from the jewelry culture of Tibetan, respectively about the historical, geographical and cultural characteristics, Tibetan culture connotations and form and the influence of the Tibetan Buddhism on Tibetan culture researches in these aspects. Furthermore, from these four aspects, it mainly discusses about the artistic features of Tibetan jewelry. Then it focuses on the importance of the Tibetan jewelry culture and protective measures. The fourth chapter of the paper is the key of the whole thesis. It mainly talks about the artistic features of Tibetan jewelry that brought what kind of influence on modern jewelry design. The analysis of this thesis is from the design concept, design style and design elements. The fifth chapter of the paper mainly talks about the developing prospects of modern jewelry design that is integrated into Tibetan jewelry artistic characteristics, namely the creative design is the combination with traditional design and modern design, also the nation and world. At the end of the paper, there is a conclusion of the whole thesis. The artistic features of Tibetan jewelry do bring profound influence on modern jewelry design, and also bring new ideas and directions for our future design and the development of the jewelry industry. In the study, there is a serious problem in China’s jewelry industry, which lacks of brand culture. In order to form a jewelry brand culture with Chinese characteristics, we need to insist on the development of national characteristics.
