Su Guo was the third son of Su Shi. Su Guo and his father depended on each other for seven years in Lingnan. He returned to the North of middle age and spent the rest of his life in Central Plains. Many regional culture characteristics were shown in Su Guo’s poems. Meanwhile, the geographical features and social culture affect Su Guo’s attitude and his works.Many regional culture characteristics of Lingnan were shown in Su Guo’s poems. There are some aspects as followed:Miasma and hurricanes are unique weather events in Lingnan. And there are some beautiful mountains and rivers in Lingnan. The social culture of Lingnan, such as the hunt and fish traditional of ethnic minorities,were also reflected in Su Guo’s poems. South of the Five Ridges is multiethnic areas with different languages. Su Guo like the tropical fruits and food in Lingnan. Meanwhile, these geographical features in Lingnan affect Su Guo’s attitude. The climate environment, miasma and typhoon in Lingnan, makes Su Guo to look after himself carefully and attach great importance to herbs. Su Guo paid more attention to the quality of plants and personnel training. Living in the hard environment, and far from his family and friends, Su Guo feels lonely. The negative emotions might find expression in Su Guo’s poetry. Su Guo living in the South with a friendly attitude. These special scenic spots as Luofu Mountain, full of history and myth, promote Su Guo to accept Taoism and pursue fairy world.When returned the North, Su Guo began writing poetry about the regional culture characteristics of Central Plains. The cold northern climate torment him and hardened him. The Mount Song that located in the Central Plains is magnificent. The Small West Lake of Xuchang is beautiful. The mountains and rivers inspire Su Guo to be more inventive. The beautiful gardens are full of seclusion culture. This culture be shown in Su Guo’s poetry. In the Central Plains, country and agricultural issue were caused care and take seriously variously. Su Guo attached much importance to agricultural natural disasters. Affected by the environment, Su Guo’s attitude changed and he began to praise government officials. And his thought of withdrawing is connected with the process of secularization and more seeking for utility. This tendency is reflected in his poetry.
