Resentment Wanting In Joy

Featured by her bizarre and pungent style of writing, Li Bihua, a female writer in Hong Kong, has been viewed as "genie writer". She has another name as "No.1 writer of love story", for she is quite good at depicting love and hate between men and women. Her novels ride wide range from life to death and through the past and present. In 1980s, Li Bihua attracted great attention by her novel "Rouge" exactly at that time. She became more well-known and found her place in literary world with other novels including "Green snake", "Adieu Ma Concubine", etc. Glancing over Li bihua’s novels, most of whose girls have different personalities, but they hate and curse men, and even the destiny of society, they are all resentful women, Li bihua seems to be in a certain complex of traction to shape these women, and this kind of "complex" is called as "Women’s resentful complex" in Li bihua’s creation.Taking the social background of Hong Kong into consideration, this paper mainly discusses the "Women’s resentful complex" in Li Bihua’s creation by using the method of psychoanalytic criticism and feminist criticism. This paper involves six parts. The introduction briefly describes Li Bihua’s woks and related researches, it also contains the main content, ideas and research methods of this paper, relevant concepts are discussed shortly as well. The second part is the body of the paper, clearly analyzing the possible reasons for Li Bihua’s creation of "women’s resentful complex". The third and fourth parts elaborate performance and characteristics of this complex in detail. The fifth part focuses on deeper meaning of this complex. As for the conclusion, it summarizes Li Bihua’s creation of "women’s resentful complex".
