| Li Bihua’s novels are not confined by love affairs, it explored into human nature. Her characters are mostly depressing, such as the repression of childhood trauma, emotional distress, the repression of unreleased Libido. The repression, which exist in people’s subconscious, affect people’s mental state and behavior. She incisively exposed distortion and abnormal behavior of human nature in aberrant emotion, especially be good at revealing repulsive and preposterous nature under the sex drive of repression. This dissertation uses Freudianism to analyze how the growth of environment and personality of Li Bihua affects her creation and the characters in the novel, and how the characters release subconscious repression. From the angle of Psychology, the study of Li Bihua and her works can make us realize the great power of repression which hide in people’s subconsciousness.Besides preface and epilogue,this dissertation is divided into three chapters.First chapter introduces the statement about repression in Freudianism(He believes a person’s urge can be repressed mainly by Libido, colloquially sex drive. Repression maintains equilibrium by different ways to the level of the unconscious, where they will be out of sight, if not out of mind. The unconscious repression still affects the actions and thoughts of the individual and has the poreatential to cause massive emotional unpredictable reactions.)Second chapter analyzes how the growth environment, personality and emotional experience affected the psychology of her creation.Third chapter mainly analyzes how the conflictions in characters’ subconscious repression distorted their humanity and how they release repression,how we could rethink the inexhaustible power of subconscious and the complication of human nature. |
