Alice Munro Novel’s Narrative Strategy Research

Alice Munro is a famous contemporary short story writer, her works, mainly writing short stories, and make a significant achievement.She will to the best of the subjects play short novels,and is known as a "great master of modern short story".Her novels not only involve the contemporary living condition, Canada’s regional culture, female growth, life and death, such as content level, but also has gained great achievements in novel narrative form.Munro followed the traditional narrative style, at the same time used a large number of draw lessons from the modern narrative skill, that makes her novel has formed unique narrative art.This paper based on the classical narrative theory, to Alice Munro’s narrative text text as reference, With reference to Alice Munro’s narrative,discuss the unique art of the narrative focus, narrative voice, narrative structure,narrative time and narrative level.The paper consists of three parts :introduction,text and Epilogue.The introduction part mainly contain Munro’s biography and her published novels profile,the research status at home and abroad of this thesis, the innovation of this paper.Text discuss Munro’s novel narrative strategy mainly from three aspects, which is divided into three chapters:The first chapter mainly discusses Alice Munro novel narrative focus, from a retrospective narrative and double focus, multiple type internal focus and unreliable narration, realism and zero point four focus, flexible transformation, to explore the novel narrative focuses on a variety of forms.The second chapter mainly elaborates the Alice Munro’s handling of narrative voice in the novel, its hidden author narrative voice gave the author more space of value judgment.The emergence of multiple narrative voices in the novel also reflects the superb narrative art of the author. This chapter, the novel narrative voice of feminine features are also discussed in this article, Munro has always concern the female issue.The third chapter analyses the Munro later novels of change in terms of the narrative time space view,that contains the narrative structure and narrative time,.this chapter mainly discusses the Munro later novels’ shift and innovation in the aspects of the narrative structure and narrative time.Epilogue part mainly summarizes the research,contenting of this article, and theinnovation of the paper.Through the discussion of three chapters, under the premise of the overall care of all of Alice Munro’s novels,this paper try to interpretate the unique artistic charm in the narrative strategy level of her novels.
