Since 1968,Alice Munro,a Canadian writer,has published fourteen collections of short stories,including Runaway,a collection of short stories which exerted the biggest influence and included a consistent theme,the theme was almost about the growth of female spirits and the awareness of gender,the narrative discourse reflects unpredictably characteristic in Munro's stories.The introduction mainly introduces the background and the main content of the book,the domestic and foreign research status of Runaway as well as the research ideas and methods of the paper.The first chapter mainly analyzes the phenomenon of "flashback" and "time span" which shows the complex and changeable forms in Runaway,and points out a obscure characteristic in the efficient process of narration resulting from the arrangement of the narrative time.The second chapter mainly analyzes that the divine and wild space elements' effect in Runaway on enriching the connotation of the story,and determining the location of each context,this part also points out the complex style and ideological implication of practical experience that reflected from the development of the function of the narrative space in the stories with the form of a mixture time and space.The third chapter analyzes the emergence and concealment of the authorial narrative "voice" in Runaway,investigating a authoritative and inclusive characteristic of the narrative "voice".The fourth chapter concludes the significance and influence of the narrative discourse by the writing of female experience from the development of feminist narratology.The conclusion points out the practical significance of the practice of the narrative discourse in the respect of the narratology,which has some implications for the development of feminist narratology in the contemporary world.Above all,Runaway,as a collection of short stories wrote by Alice Munro,performs many characteristics of narrative discourse in the dimensions of the narrative time,the narrative space,the narrative voice and so on,indicating the unique spiritual values and the ideological implication of her female writing,as well as the significance of innovation which was emerged from the meaning of the narratology and feminist literature in the postmordern context.
