The Research Of Hu Xiansu’s Humanism Aesthetics

In the early 1920 s,with the mixture of the culture,Hu xiansu got up on the stage of history as a representative of Xue Heng school.His ideology was full of profound humanism aesthetic thinking which combined Confucian humanism aesthetics with Babbitt humanism aesthetics.Hu xiansu is a famous botanist.But his achievement in literature is rarely known by people.This thesis is aimed at exploiting the humanism aesthetics of his works,sort out the origin of his thoughts and sum up the speciality of his thinking.This paper includes four chapters:The first chapter is about analysing the historical relationship between Hu xiansu and Xue Heng school.Besides,it also discusses the value and the contribution of Hu xiansu.The second chapter discusses the first origin of Hu xiansu’s thought which comes from Confucian humanism aesthetics.This part analyzes his works from three aspects,respectively are “the consummation of kindness and virtue”,“the mixture of nature and form” and “Mean” in Confucian aesthetics.The third chapter is about the second origin of Hu xiansu’s thought which comes from Babbitt humanism aesthetics.It discusses his attitude of literature and aesthetic.The last chapter concludes the speciality of Hu xiansu’s humanism aesthetics what is a combination of Chinese and Western humanism aesthetics.This part analyzes from two aspects which are integration of new and old culture and integration of science and humanities.The humanism aesthetics of Hu xiansu is a great heritage in the world which should take a place in Chinese academic culture in 1920 s.
