Research On Beauvor’s Existential Feminist Thoughts

Simone de Beauvoir was a pioneer of Western Feminist.Since her masterpiece The Second SEX was published,the majority of women paid attention to this book, and it profound influence upon the development of feminist ideology.It can be said that Simone de Beauvoir and her The Second Sex can not be bypassed when we study Feminist.Beauvoir’s Feminist thoughts were deeply influenced by Sartre’s Existentialism. She used Sartre’s philosophy concept to analyse women’s issues and produced many new opinions for the issues. What is more, these opinions enriched the philosophy of Existentialism. So this thesis will use the three concepts of Existentialism –condition, the other and freedom – to analyse Beauvoir’s feminist thoughts. With the help of Sartre’s definition for the three concepts,we can find how Beauvoir can draw the concepts of existentialism to analyze women’s issues.We should pay particular attention to the connotation of Beauvoir’ view.then discuss the necessity and possibility of the women freedom.The final goal is to discover the obstruction of women liberation road and then to solve the problems.
