This research paper intends to analyze the Chromaficism tendency and its music development of the second violin concerto "in tempus praesens" written by the former Soviet Union composer Sofia Gudaidulina. "in tempus prasens" is a highly creative and ornamental work created by Gudaidulina between 2006 and 2007, and the work was played by violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter in 2007 at Lucern music festival.First chapter of this paper provides a brief overview of the historical development of chromatic pitch system of western classical music. The chapter will give a number of examples include pitch system of twelve equal tone temperament of baroque period, chromatic harmony system of romantic period, and serialism twelve tone pitch system. The chapter will also mention a number of modern times composers who are good at chromatic pitch technique. The last section of this chapter will explain that besides "in tempus praesens", Gudaidulina also applied chromatic pitch features on her other works. We can see chromatic pitch is one of Gudaidulina’s most representative composing techniques.The second chapter provides in-depth analysis of the application of chromatic tendency of "in tempus prasens". The chapter will include macroscopic relationship between chromatic system coordinates and tonal, microcosmic relationship between transverse chromatic pitch and longitudinal chromatic pitch, and relationship between differential sound and chromatic pitch. The chapter intend to analyze the application and trajectory of Chromaficism tendency in "in tempus prasens".The third chapter provides detailed analysis of key composition elements which include buckling structure, tonal harmony, texture rhythm and instruments layout. The chapter will also analyze the music development of "in tempus prasens", and Chromaficism tendency embodiment and application effect in various elements in order to gain a deeper understanding of the work.The last chapter will focus on the close relationship between "in tempus prasens" and Bach choir, as well as the religious significance of the work. The chapter will also mention another famous violin concerto "Offertorium" written by Gudaidulina, which is a representative work to salute Bach. The work ingeniously incorporated Bach elements.Through the analysis of "in tempus prasens" and exploration of Gudaidulina’s composition technique, we will gain a better understanding of how composer use western music language to express their eastern national spirit and religious belief to form a unique composition style. The research process will have positive inspirational effect on the future creation and study of myself.
