The purpose of this research is to analyze Lin Xi’s "Tianjin-Style stories" by identifying the psycho-cultural structure in the works.Paper is divided into four parts. The first chapter induce the trinity of the psycho-cultural structure in the works, based on different themes and space-time positioning of Lin Xi’s works, which contain the writer’s memories, feelings and reflections of the past. The first is the childhood memory in a declined large family and the mother’s untimely death; Secondly, after being involved in "Hu Feng clique" wrongly, Lin Xi suffered in the following twenty-five years, this memory prompted the authors to have a profound reflection on humanity and life; the last is the author’s localism as a witness and observer of the social transition of Tianjin, who wanted to retain a memory of the city.Chapters II and III, respectively analyze on the "society" and "family" theme works. The former is more emphasis on the perspective of macro social environment, while the latter focuses on the micro-environment. Lin Xi’s works painted a picture of the old society, created all sorts of characters with special talent and destiny. The character and storyline arrangements reflect the writer’s nostalgic emotion, compassion to the characters in plight, commendation to humanity, sarcasm of the corruption, even life experience and wisdom of the author.The last chapter is an evaluation for the entire series of novels. Lin Xi’s works are filled with nostalgic atmosphere from content to form. His narrative derives from the traditional folk art form of storytelling with omniscient narrative view. It can be described as an old man telling old stories of the city by describing a great deal details of social life to help readers across the barriers of time and space, approached those disappearing memory. Moreover, Lin Xi’s "Tianjin-style stories" are not only his personal memories, but also the collective memory of the old generation in Tianjin. His stories can also help the modern people to establish a connection with local history and regional culture, so as to find the destination of the soul.
