The Study Of The Space Culture Theory Of Walter Benjamin And Its Impact

As a German thinker, philosopher and Marxist Literary critic, Walter Benjamin made important contributions for culture research. In the fifties and sixties of 20th century, someone focused on Benjamin, make people deeply understand him. Nowadays, Benjamin is an important one in the wave of space culture theory research and how to build the space culture theory. He began to pay close attention to the space problem early, insight into the relationship between human and space, to reveal the deep thought with poetic language, excavated in the modern space the change of the way of perception, and expand the study of modernity. Although Benjamin did not establish a space culture theory, he laid the foundation for the space culture theory now, makes people use a different angle of viewing and studying of the theory.This article altogether divides into three chapters except introduction and epilogue. The first chapter discusses the space problem according to the space concept:firstly philosophy in the sense of space and time, time is gradually hidden in the theory of space, space in philosophy is a kind of present; secondly the aesthetic sense of space is full of changing ways, standards and judgment, with technology into people’s life, the attention of space gradually change people’s aesthetic; thirdly the society sense of space and social production and construction are inseparable, in the social space, the relationship between human and space has become more complicated.The second chapter discusses the human in space and the change of the way of cognitive from the two aspects of individual and group. Benjamin for research and criticism of modernity, the Paris arcade and loafer crowd became an important part of the space culture research. The development of technology and the changes in space each day, make culture into consumption, people wandering in consumption and showing the significance of space, the flash before one and the flash after one became the relationship between the people and the human and things. The shiver with terror of modernity is accompanied by loss of consciousness.The third chapter discusses the influence of Benjamin’s space culture research. Firstly his thought and discussed impact the culture of urban space open his textual reading way of urban space, the old space and behavior of people in this space caused loss, human’s anxiety, which laid a foundation for later space of culture studies. Then the reflection to Benjamin’s space culture theory, we see people’s real living conditions through space, at the same time it warns us to think about the relationship between us ourselves, human and nature.This article on the basis of a close reading of the Benjamin’s theory texts, through the interpretation and understanding of the space culture research, trace back to Benjamin as the pioneer of the space culture theory expressed his observation of the space and understanding. Found in space, human has anxiety of modernity in space, Benjamin laid the foundation for the space culture theory, and his way of studying brings us a lot of inspiration.
