Under the background of globalization and social transformation of China, the increasingly prominent cultural conflicts exacerbate cultural crisis. This paper begins with the generation and development of cultural, based on Marxist View on history and culture, systematically explaining Marx’s point of "culture". Marx believes that human’s practical activities is the most profound base of the generation of culture, thus social and historical environment are more essential to the generation of culture than natural environment. Based on this view, the fundamental cause of cultural crisis lies on the contradiction of inherent transcendence and overall naturalness occurred in cultural crisis. The emergency of cultural crisis always impacts social mainstream values, leading to the anomy in peoples’value system and the lack of belief. People begin to suspect themselves and lose confidence to the meaning of existing, thus bringing them serious psychological problems. But in the other hand, cultural crisis brings new opportunity. In other words, without cultural crisis, old culture cannot be upgraded to new culture, that is no lose no gain. The research method of this paper is based on experience and scientific inquiry, historical view and dialectic view, and documentary analysis. This paper focuses on the following tasks:firstly, it should be stressed that culture is in development and in change and depends on mode of production and mode of exchange. Secondly, it should be cleared that cultural crisis stands for the past while opportunity the future. Without crisis there would be no opportunity. Finally, the Innovation and development of new culture are sublation of old culture, thus cutting the relation of the two is unwise. In contemporary society, studies on cultural crisis abroad often emphasizes critic to Western technological rationality. Because of the differences between Chinese and Western culture, their theories are not so suitable to Chinese condition. Back to domestic studies, most are made from the angle of sociology. There are few works done from the angle of philosophy of culture, especially those works which are based on Marxist view on culture. Therefore, under such a condition, it is necessary to correctly apply Marx’s theory to Chinese condition and to grasp essence from Western studies. Only in this way can we judge and choose scientific and feasible methods and policies to build national cultural cause. And only in this way can we find a creative road for cultural exploration, and can we solve the problems with cultural crisis in the period of Chinese transformation.
