Conditional Sentence "Only P, Then Q " And Extension Sentence

This paper will discuss the sentence pattern "only there is p,there will be q" all-around from form,connotation,valuethree parts,making a study on the structure,meaning,interrelation,pragmatic value and so on of its standard sentence pattern and extend sentence pattern. Second,it will make a comparative analysis between this sentence pattern and the special one "only if... "and the similar one "nothing but...".At last,extended on the fact that Chinese as the second language in the teaching work,it will analyze that when foreign student study this sentence pattern,what bias error will appear?and why these bias error will happen?How do teachers avert these bias error in their teaching work?Five parts in this paper:Part I:It will discuss linguistic outside structure of the sentence pattern"only there is p,there will be q" for its standard form,extend form and special form,including the subject position,interrelation,extended condition form and inner semantic relation in its standard form; the result form and inner semantic relation in its extend form;the subject position,form and inner semantic relation in its special form.Part II:It will discuss the tense and aspect of the sentence pattern"only there is p,there will be q".The tense and aspect are commonly expressed by dynamic auxiliary word and so on.Even if on dynamic auxiliary word in this sentence pattern,the tense and aspect can be expressed by the sentence itself.The tense and aspect of this sentence pattern can be divided into three parts:future tense and imperfect tense;past tense and perfect tense;axiomatic objective laws.Part III:It will discuss the features of "p".First,"p" can express realizable condition,also express unrealizable condition,and this realization has difference between subjective and objective,follows:subjective affirmation can be realized,the reality can be realized;subjective affirmation can be realized,but reality may be realized;subjective affirmation can be realized,but reality can not be realized.Second,it will discuss whether the "p" is the only condition or not.Third,"p"will be used in positive statement and negative statement and so on,the actual frequency of "p" in using as follows(from high to low):"only there is p,there will be q","only there is p,there will be no q","only there is no p,there will be q","only there is no p,there will be no q".Part â…£:It will discuss an similar sentence pattern to "only there is p,there will be q".Except for "only there is p,there will be q",the sentence pattern"if there is p,there will be q" can also express conditional relation.These two sentence patterns can be exchanged in some condition,but sometimes they can not.The main factors that limit these two exchange are inside meaning,color meaning,context and group convention.Part V:It will discuss the relevant information about the sentence pattern"only there is p,there will be q" in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language work.At first,it will collect bias error corpus during the learning.Second,it will analyze and classify the bias error corpus,which can be classified into two parts :one will influence the building of sentence,such as the word bias error,the sentence bias error and the text bias error;the other one will not influence the building of sentence,such as wrong punctuation,wrong word and so on. At last, it will discuss the causes of these bias errors by inference,such as negative transfer of mother tongue,learning strategies (transformation, over-generalization,simplification).
