Chinese traditional flower and bird painting has a long history, and it has formed a certain schema structure after thousands of years of development. Nowadays, there are plenty of researches about its history, technique evolution, composition and connotation. But researches from the perspective of schema analysis on the internal structure are rare. Through the composition factors of modern factors such as point, line and plane. this paper studies the schema of Chinese traditional flower and bird painting, exploring the inner link between the schema evolution and plane form, analyzing the composition relationship between point, line and plane in Chinese traditional flower and bird painting. Those studies help us to understand the concepts and constitute characteristics of flower and bird painting. These ideas or features can guide us to use the contemporary aesthetic consciousness to explore the Chinese painting schema when we study the traditional painting.This paper summarizes the content of traditional flower and bird painting, the concept of plane form and the use of point, line, plane in the flowers and birds painting. introducing the purpose, significance and methods of this study and expounding the painting schema and plane form and their backgrounds. Meanwhile, this paper analysis the application pattern of point, line and plane in flower and bird painting compare composition factors of point. line, plane with traditional painting elements such as modelling, ink, construction, focusing on the transfer of ideas, which will help to explain the significance of point, line and plane in traditional flower and bird painting. At last, this paper propose the importance of point, line and plane structure theory in the understanding and analyzing of schema and the necessity of establishing a modern flower and bird painting schema.
