Provertb is a kind of art Statement which is folk collective creation, widely circulated, concise and comprehensive as well as qualitative, it is regularity summary of people’s rich wisdom and general experience.Proper use of proverbs can make the language lively and interesting and enhance the expressive force of articles at the same time. Proverb is important material of language and culture exploration, we can not only learn about the language habits of a country and a nation vividly, but also feel the rich ethnic culture and national consciousness in depth. In numerous material of the proverbs, a majority of content of which involves female image. In those proverbs which describe female image, proverbs describing female members’ identity in family are in the majority, thus this paper takes the related Korean and China proverbs which describe female members’ identity in family as a research object and respectively make comparative study to their semantic aspect as well as reveals the similarities and differences of such proverb in the two countries.The paper can be divided into four chapter:the first chapter is the introduction part, which mainly states the research objective, prior study, the research scope and methods of this paper. The second chapter contrasts related Korean and China proverbs which describe female members’ individuality identity in family. It mainly analyzes and contrasts the status and the differences of treatment of women in Korea and China when they are as a daughter, daughter-in-law, wife and mother in these four family identities. The third chapter contrasts related Korean and China proverbs which describe female members’ relational identity in family, which mainly studies the relational identity when they are as a daughter, a wife, a daughter-in-law and a mother as well as makes classification and comparison analysis to the specific relationship of family members involved in each category. The forth chapter is the conclusion part.There are a large number of proverbs describing the identity of female members in family in Korea and China. In addition, ancient Korea was influenced by Chinese Confucian, so there are many similar places in their significance of the two countries’ female proverbs. For example, man is superior to woman, son preference, Three Obediences and Four Virtues, Three Principles and Five Virtues and so on, these thoughts are reflected in the two countries’proverbs. Generally, proverbs making requirements for women or satirize and negate woman are in the majority, while proverbs making affirmation to woman are in the minority. From the analysis of content of the two countries’proverbs involving female image, requirement for women in ancient Korea are more rigorous than that of China.Hoping this paper can assist Korean and Chinese learners in making full sense to the proverb expression habits as well as the consciousness and thoughts between the two countries.
