As an ancient Chinese saying goes, a man should be appointed as an official if he is excel in learning. People of this kind can get a series of political privileges and economic benefits from the monarch. The Ming Dynasty is a mature period of the development of the Chinese ancient bureaucratic system. Officials enjoy various political and economic privileges. The paper based on the predecessors research mainly inquiry into the political and economic privileges enjoyed by the officials during their term, retirement and posthumous time. Meanwhile, the treatise analyzes the characteristics and influence of the Ming Dynasty official treatment.The first chapter introduced officials’ treatment of the Ming Dynasty when they are in office or absent from their post for the reason that their parents passed away.And the following detailed measures and treatment for the officials who finished their mourning ceremony for their dead parents.The second chapter introduces the treatment for the officials of the Ming Dynasty when they are in retirement or passed away. Retired officials enjoy treatment including promotion of title, participation in royal ceremony, endowments for their descendants, salary and reward and so on.The third chapter discusses the overall characteristics and influence of the Ming Dynasty official treatment. On the whole, the Ming Dynasty official political status was cherished more than the economic benefits by the society. Under the circumstances, the government utilizes giving higher title to console the officials.Though they have a higher title, yet their economic treatment has little room to promote. In the first half of the Ming Dynasty, it is difficult for the civilian officials to get a title, but in the second half of the Ming Dynasty, martial officials have great difficulties in getting a title. which embodies the trend of humanization. The level of official treatment is mainly dependent on the officials’ grade. In addition, because officials enjoy the privilege of free of taxes, they reap the economic benefits in themost effective way. All these have a bad effect on the Ming Dynasty political atmosphere.Through the above analysis, we can get some lessons and inspiration on the present-day social problems on civil servant system of our country. All in all, we can safe to say that if the officials have too many privileges when they are in position, it will unavoidably leads to corruption of large scale.
